I wait and think, not so poetically. Not to me anyway. I just ramble and enjoy the release of whatever. Its nice and simple. Blunt, often choppy. It can be scattered. But its me being me in the moment. I think God appreciates it, and if someone else did that would be something/someone really special to me. Words on a screen can be interpreted in so many ways. Words in general are misinterpreted too often. Thats ok. I think its ok to be misunderstood. Not a nice feeling at all though. Its so entirely troubling. Knowing someone doesnt fully understand. Makes it so I cant sleep. You know.

On the other hand

Knowing someone whole heartedly wants to understand. Someone who wont give up on you and your whatever. Thats so special.

Thats a feeling like no other.

What Integrity means to me.

While in Seychelles, i got into a deep conversation with my mom..

Thats her. :D .....I moved away from home last year, to a whole different country, and she was asking me how i was doing and how i was living my life. It got me to thinking....living here in South Africa, with not as much parental supervision, i can do whatever i want. I'm on my own now, Ive got my own apartment, own car, ive got no obligations to be at church every single day..(pastors kid :P) im in a relationship with an amazing girl, Uni and jobs are definatly not optional...so i guess mom realized that too..heh and wondered Am i sticking with everything i have been taught, am i still living by their rules? It got me to thinking of this meaning of Integrity.

The volume of truth in that statement is phenomenal. When I have boundaries set, standards implemented, then I know where I should and should not step. I believe a key part of being integral is determining what you stand for and remembering those standards every time you make an important decision. This way if there are choices that need to be made, left or right, you can recognize which choice will jeopardize and which will support your integrity. What happens when you don't have boundaries? Everything you don't want to happen.

So my co-worker asks me "So you stand for the whole "save sex for marriage" deal, and you dont smoke pot, do you drink?

My reply, "No."

Then his response, "...so you're a good guy ey?"

My bold remark, "You're missing the point... I don't put myself in situations that have the potential of getting me into situations i don't wanna be in-not because of some fear of what people will think of me, but because who I am."

Friends.. Integrity is holding onto the same values you do in public even when nobody is around you. Why am i telling you this? Because everyone wants to excel in life. Because it's not easy all the time. Because no man has won a battle by not fighting in it. Because the world will do whatever it can to cause you to jeopardize your goodcharacter to try and fit in, because it knows the power that lies in staying true to your beliefs. Friends if we do this... if we hold onto our integrity... we will be rare among the world, we will stand outfrom among the world, and then we will see that we've always had the power to change the world.

How ya gonna change it?

I AM A CHRISTIAN

I am a Christian...

When I say... "I am a Christian"
I'm not shouting "I'm clean living."
I'm whispering "I was lost,"
Now I'm found and forgiven.

When I say..."I am a Christian"
I don't speak of this with pride.
I'm confessing that I stumble
and need CHRIST to be my guide.

I'm not trying to be strong.
I'm professing that I'm weak
and need HIS strength to carry on.

I'm not bragging of success.
I'm admitting I have failed
and need God to clean my mess.

I'm not claiming to be perfect,
My flaws are far too visible
but, God believes I am worth it.

I still feel the sting of pain,
I have my share of heartaches
So I call upon His name.

UNITED WE STAND!

--U N I T E D W E S T A N D --

Its not supposed to be a clever slogan or a fancy title. This is way bigger than that its a statement, and its a call to action for the church--which is us.

All over this big old planet that we temporarily call home, there is a generation rising up and joining in...Living lives that declare the praises of GOD, and are passionate about bringing hope and answers to a lost and broken humanity.

Its a stand that goes beyond the four walls of our church buildings, and an understanding that theres no time to waste. Wherever life and circumstances find us; day after day after day...

Its time to stand up...

Breaking down religion and standing for the truth, love and justice. Thats what we're all about. Take away the lights and the cameras, the guitars and the drums and all that goes with it....still the song remains-- a song of salvation..a song of freedom..and a song of praise. Its the sound of a generation connecting with their Saviour....In Spirit and Truth.

Being consumed and changed from the inside out--and choosing to live it out.

Its happening all across the earth..and its getting louder, its time for us to stand! United in our love for God and our love for all people! Not just in song or intention-- but in our actions.

HAVE A GOOD ONE!?!?!

you know what i don't understand, is the phrase "have a good one".

It is so commonly used today that no one i know really cares for this phrase, but for some reason it bothers me so.
Here is the scenario...i'm walking into a local coffee shop, i say "hello, how are you?", a good question...they respond,"i am good, how about yourself?"..i respond "i am doing well". I place my order and pay.... the conversation is going good so far...until, as i get my change they say "HAVE A GOOD ONE"...out of natural instinct i say "you too" ( i guess). After i wonder about what just happened.
When i ask someone i know "a good what?" they say...wait wait just guess what they say... that's right... "i don't know" with a look on their face which just screams confusion!!! "You don't know!!!" The i ask, why do you say it then? They may tell me it means have a good day. Someone i know said it could mean "have a good 'whatever you are doing today and good luck with that'".

Sure why not.
In conclusion it would appear that the definition of the word 'one' is not a number value. It means something else...
'One' then must mean in this context .... 'have a good whatever you are doing today and good luck with whatever you may do or may not plan to do in the future with the life that you wish to lead'.
Okay, so next time you tell someone to 'have a good one' instead of saying 'one' say exactly what is written above so that there is no confusion... or to make it real easy just say "have a good freakn' day".....
